Schwedtsee lies in the green heart of Fürstenberg on the Havel and is part of the Brandenburg Lake District – an ideal cruising area for nature-loving travellers. Via the Havel it is directly connected to further lakes such as Baalensee, Stolpsee or Röblinsee. Its clear, calm water invites you to swim, stand-up paddle or simply drift.
At around 1.4 km long and with several gently sloping shore zones, the lake is especially well suited to relaxed stops – whether with family, dog or as a group. Nature lovers get their money's worth too: ospreys, kingfishers and wild geese can be spotted here in the wild.

Do I need a boat licence for Schwedtsee?
No. At Bootado you rent a houseboat with no licence required. After a three-hour theoretical and practical briefing you can set off straight away – even as a beginner.
How safe is a houseboat holiday for children?
Very safe: child-safe railings, non-slip surfaces and life jackets in various sizes. Ideal for families.
Can I bring my dog?

How long should I plan for?
Even a weekend is enough to unwind. Many guests choose 3–5 days so they can explore neighbouring waters as well.
Is there electricity and hot water on board?
Yes, all houseboats are equipped with a power connection (12 V/230 V), running water, a shower and a kitchen.
Do I have to plan my route in advance?
No, you decide spontaneously. At handover we give you recommendations for bathing spots, shops and lovely places to drop anchor.
